Go Virtual

10th February 2017
Shanklea children have been testing virtual-reality technology this week and they are tough critics!
When Shanklea students gathered in their school hall on Thursday morning, they didn't expect their teachers to tell them they were about to travel to the Great Wall of China then a shark cage under the sea.
Led by their teacher, and, while wearing their viewer, pupils looked around images of locations including the Grand Canyon, the Taj Mahal and the Great Barrier Reef. It was an exciting project.
The technology transformed how the teachers were able to structure their lessons and the response from pupils was dramatic. The children were fizzing with excitement as they viewed each new location.
This fantastic and unusual learning experience was greatly enjoyed.
