Another Successful Summer Fair!
21st July 2017
We all want to say a big, big Thank You to everyone who came to the Summer Fair and to everyone who worked so hard to make it such a great success. The rain didn’t dampen our spirits as we relocated inside. Lots of people came and everyone seemed to have a wonderful time.
Congratulations to Reece Campbell who correctly named the Gorilla, Carl. Carl spent the day at Shanklea Primary and got involved in lots of mischievous monkey business! Congratulations to Hana Ibrahim and Erin Cutting who won the best dressed princess awards. Congratulations to Zak Leadbitter and Tyler Cripps who won the best dressed superhero awards.
Our summer fair was a great opportunity for the children to have a fun day out and for the parents to get a chance to socialise and, of course, raise some money for our school. It is important to note, that stalls serve different purposes – some are there, not to make money but to create a good atmosphere and at pocket money prices. For example, the pony rides and the magician were provided free of charge as a thank you to everyone who came.
The Fair made a profit of £865.96 which will be used to benefit all the children. We would like to thank all the local businesses who contributed in so many ways including donations to the raffle. Particular thanks go to the Haldane family, Hall family, Leadbitter family, Allen family, Spedding Family, McRobb-Fielding family, Steph, the Smith family, the Ibrahim Family, the Bowman family, Nicola Everitt from Glitter Pirates and Azure Garden Centre. Thank you so much to our loyal band of school supporters who generously give up so much of your time – your contribution really matters. Many thanks to our young volunteers too, in particular, Alex Willoughby who has generously given up his time to install a new Storage Container for the PTFA (even on a Sunday!).
Finally we would like to thank the school staff for all their support and commitment – it wouldn’t have been possible without all of you. We are interested to hear your views- whether you think there is anything the PTFA needs to invest in, or how we can make the Summer Fair or future events even better. Please get in touch and let us know what you think.
