International Week

18th October 2013

An International Enrichment Week (IEW) is taking place from Monday 21st October - Friday 25th October 2013 and is an opportunity to promote the importance of building an international dimension into the education of our young people at primary level. We know that familiarity with other cultures and modern foreign languages skills are an essential part of preparing young people to work in a global community.

A wide range of exciting themed arts’ activities and events will occur.
Importantly, at the end of the week, Friday 25th October 2013, the whole school will need to ‘get their wellies on’ in support of a leading British charity and help Give Hunger the Boot in Africa.
The Welly Walk is a unique challenge for Shanklea pupils to walk collectively all the way to Africa and back!

At break time on Friday 25th October 2013, the Y6 Young Enterprise group are selling their  Fairtrade food products to the rest of school. It would be appreciated if the children could bring 50p into school and then support the purchase of the healthy snacks.
