Shanklea Cycling in Amsterdam

10th November 2017
At Shanklea Primary School, we believe that educating children how to incorporate a bike into their lives is important and that by introducing them to cycling related activities from a young age we may be able to foster a lifelong passion for cycling. Being a confident and able cyclist provides children with an opportunity to maintain a good level of health and mental wellbeing and develop life skills, gain self-confidence and independence. Working with Shanklea pupils, we have developed tailored programmes with these aims in mind and we are delighted to share our plans with you. Our next proposed adventure is to cycle to Amsterdam and back, via the ferry of course! Year 5 and 6 children will be invited to apply for membership of the Shanklea Cycle Crew and register an interest in the proposed cycling trip abroad… Watch out for further information in the coming weeks.
