Religious Education

Understanding Christianity is a high-quality, structured resource used in our Religious Education (RE) curriculum to help students explore the core beliefs, values, and narratives of the Christian faith. Designed for pupils from EYFS to Key Stage 3, it provides a deep and thoughtful approach to Christianity as a living, global faith.

Students learn through eight key concepts that run throughout the programme:

  • God, Creation, Fall, People of God, Incarnation, Gospel, Salvation and Kingdom of God.

  • Each unit builds on prior knowledge, encouraging pupils to make connections between Bible texts, Christian belief and practice, and the impact on individuals and communities today. Lessons are inquiry-based and promote critical thinking, discussion, and personal reflection, equipping students to understand Christianity in a meaningful and respectful way.

Parents and carers have the right to withdraw their child from all or part of RE, please speak to Mrs Ritson if you wish to discuss this further.
